Travel Pages

Here's a mini book that I've been working on the past few months covering some of our travels in the past few years.  Most of them are from Europe and I still have a few more pages to add to it, but I thought I'd try making up for the lack of posts lately.



Another Baby Page

I love this adorable little boy, I can't wait until I have one of my own.  Until then, I'm going to keep doing pages of Chris.  This is another page I'm entering in the My Memories weekly challenge.

Berlin Sealife

I'm finally getting around to scrapbooking the pages from our trip to Berlin.  I'm so glad that we had the opportunity to go up there with such great friends, especially since they have the most adorable little boy. 



A German New Year's Eve

My husband and I bought the traditional German outfits for Oktoberfest in Munich.  Sometimes we'll just randomly put them on when we have parties going on.  Of course, we wound up putting them on for New Year's Eve this year.  For this page I used the Bollywood kit from LouCee Creations on My Memories. 

Pampered Chef Party Pages

My husband took a ton of pictures at my Pampered Chef Party the other day.  We really had a great time and I'm glad he captured it.  Especially the pictures he got of Chris, I liked them enough to go ahead and make a whole group of pages just of them. Some of them will be used in the weekly My Memories challenge, I'm supposed to use a template (feels like cheating) and I get bonus points for using templates or kits from Albums to Remember.

Just a couple more pages that I did today to keep me busy.

Couple of New Pages and a Recipe

I stumbled upon the folder of pictures from our courthouse ceremony and mini honeymoon, so I thought I should probably do something with them. 

This one I just was having fun with.  I wanted to make another page for the My Memories challenge (create a page using A Saxon Creation kits).  I had the My Colorful Flourishes kit and thought it would be great for the playful nature of our pictures from the Children's Museum in Indianapolis.  Plus it gave me a chance to try making a rainbow colored wordart, it was a little tricky, but I managed it.

For dinner tonight we have some uncooked turkey ranch cheddar burgers left over from the party on Saturday.  Since it was kind of cold and rainy outside today, we didn't feel like grilling.  Instead I cooked them into a pasta dish.

Ingredients

8 ounces uncooked macaroni pasta

1 pound ground turkey

1 cup cheddar cheese

1 packet ranch dressing mix

2 cups frozen peas

8 slices of bacon, cut into one inch pieces

1 can non fat evaporated milk

1 1/2 tablespoons corn starch

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 tablespoon chili powder

Directions

Make the pasta according to the directions.
Combine the ground turkey, cheese, ranch mix, bacon and peas in a large skillet. Cook until the meat is no longer pink.
While that is cooking, whisk the corn starch, garlic, onion and chili powders into the evaporated milk.
Stir the seasoned milk into the meat mixture and let boil for a few minutes, or until thickened. After the noodles are cooked and drained, mix into the meat mixture.

My Memories Challenge

Here's the page I'm going enter into this week's My Memories challenge.  The challenge was to use any of the kits from A Saxon Creation.  For this page I used the Vintage Rose kit, the picture was taken by a photographer friend of mine back in Maryland.  This was one of the first pictures Don and I had taken of us.

Hanging with the Boys

In honor of my husband's best friend moving today, I decided to make up a page with a couple pictures of them hanging out.  The Man Cave kit that I found on mymemories.com was perfect for it :-)

Aviano, Italy

Last weekend I went down to Aviano, Italy for a class.  This time I was able to do a little exploring.  There's a huge mountain range that I can see from my school building.  I decided follow the road that went up and over the mountain and discovered a cute little ski resort town somewhere near the top.  I also found out that I was either in the Dolomites or very close to them.  Next time I'm hoping to take my husband and see what else we can find up there.

Fire on the Rhine Page

Last fall my husband and I drove to western Germany to take a dinner cruise on the Rhine River.  It was for a thing called Fire on the Rhine (check out the website here).  The highlight of the evening was an amazing fireworks show over the Rhine River with a musical background.  There were hundreds of boats of all sizes sharing the river for the show.  Plus they had the hills and castles all lit up with flares, it was beautiful!  Unfortunately, we didn't get many shots of the fireworks. 

Mini Couples Shoot

I love playing photographer, I just don't have much opportunity to shoot people.  Last spring a couple friends of mine and I wandered around town doing a mini couples shoot.  I really liked some of the shots that came out of it.  These are a few of my favorite shots.

I decided to make a picture collage for my facebook banner of some of the traveling I've done.  What do you think?

Modeling Scrapbooked Pages

Once upon a time and in a galaxy far, far away....  well, maybe not in another galaxy,  but it seems like it was forever ago and after being in Germany for over two years the states start feeling like a whole galaxy away sometimes.  Anyways, a few years back I did a little modeling.  I got some really great pictures from the shoots I did, but I've never done anything with them.  Until today.
